Fold-away
units tan one side of the body at a time and hence takes twice the time
of a double unit for an overall tan.
Their main advantage is that they take up relatively little room when
folded and can easily be easily transported or stored where space is limited.

Double
units save time by tanning both sides of the body at once, and because
you are laid down they are more relaxing than vertical types.
However, they need permanent floor space and are not easy to transfer
from one location to another. |
Vertical
tanning systems provide all-round body exposure, usually with built-in
timer, power controls and additional facilities.
They are typically more expensive than other types, but often offer the
most comprehensive tanning system.
